Intermediate
In AirNavCAD you can easily draw Intermediate segment for VOR/NDB or OAS.
​
You need to have drawn a VOR/NDB area or and OAS area.
​
you need indicate IF and FAF position or if there is not IF you need a Racetrack or Base Turn to end there the Intermediate Segment, also you need an auxiliary point to indicate the direction of intermediate segment in this last case.
WIZARD
You have to select NPA or LOC.
​
NPA for VOR/NDB and LOC for OAS.
​
Up to Turn Area if there is not IF and the intermediate segment finished there.
NPA with
FAF-IF
If you select NPA and nothing more and click Finish in the wizard The output tell you , you must to do:

INTERMEDIATE SEGMENT
Select POINT FAF
Select POINT IF
Select POLYLINE Secondary Final segment
​
So you need a point in FAF, another in IF and the areas of NPA at least secondary to select.

OUTPUT
You can draw a point or if the point exists as notification point (select that but remember unlock the layer of points of notification, lock the layer after)
​
Simply select FAF, IF and area secondary and you get the Intermediate.
NPA with FAF and Racetrack
If you select NPA and select the check up to Turn Area and click Finish in the wizard The output tell you , you must to do:

INTERMEDIATE SEGMENT

Select NAVAID/POITN ORIGING of 15MN

Select POINT FAF
-
Select POINT FINAL TURN (Aprox INTERSECTION axis extension with TURN AREA to give direction of intermediate segment)

Select POLYLINE Secondary Final segment

Select POLYLINE TURN Primary AREA

So you need a point or Navaid a point in FAF, another auxiliary, the areas of NPA at least secondary to select and turn areas.
OUTPUT
You can draw a point or if the point/navaid exists as notification point or navaid (select that but remember unlock the layer of points of notification or navaids, lock the layer after)

Simply select the steps and the area is going to be drawn.
Case LOC
This case is the same as before but we need to draw the line DD because we need it.
​
So because we get the oas is easy to draw line DD is the red line marked on the left image.

LOC with IF and FAF
you have to select in the wizard LOC and no more and click finish.
​
The output tell you what you have to do:

INTERMEDIATE SEGMENT
Select POINT FAF/FAP
Select POINT IF
Select LINE D2D
​
So this case introduces line DD.
LOC with FAF and Racetrack
This case you have to select LOC and check up to Turn area.

you have to select the following:

INTERMEDIATE SEGMENT
Select NAVAID/POITN ORIGING of 15MN
Select POINT FAF/FAP
Select POINT FINAL TURN (Aprox INTERSECTION axis extension with TURN AREA)
Select LINE D2D
Select POLYLINE TURN AREA

Following this steps we get the output.
